Pretty powerful video from Google for the new Timelapse functionality within Google Earth (there had been timelapses in 2D before, but now they’re fully 3D). Pretty harrowing to watch — to the the world changing in huge ways over the course of just a few decades — but important.

Google Earth was one of those pieces of technology I distinctly recall falling in love with years ago. I could visit anywhere in the world just by zooming out and then zooming in. It’s pretty incredible how robust it is these days — all within the browser — I highly recommend hitting the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button a few times and exploring the world that way.
